New to Discord? You’re not alone.

If your last Kill Hannah fan-community experience involved message boards, LiveJournal, MySpace, AIM, or refreshing KillHannah.com from a desktop computer, Discord might look a little confusing at first.

Don’t worry. It’s basically a modern-day message board mixed with a chat room.

Here’s how to get started.

When you click our invite link, Discord will ask you to either open the Discord app or create an account.

You can use Discord on:

* Your phone or tablet with the Discord app

* Your computer with the Discord app

* A web browser

You do not have to pay for Discord to participate in the server.

When you first arrive, check out the rules and welcome/info channels.

Please read the rules before jumping in. They’re mostly common sense. Be cool to each other, don’t spam, and remember that we’re all here because Kill Hannah permanently altered our brain chemistry at some point.

You can add a profile photo and choose the name you want people to see.

Old-school KH fans: If you remember your username from the old Kill Hannah message boards, KHK, or another fan community, feel free to put it in your profile or introduction!

There is a very real possibility someone here remembers you.

Head over to the introductions channel and say hello!

You can tell us things like:

* Your name or nickname

* Where you’re from

* When/how you discovered Kill Hannah

* Your first KH show

* Your favorite album or song

* Your old message-board/KHK username

* Any ridiculous Kill Hannah story you still remember

Or just say “Hi, I’m new here.”

That works too.

On the side of the screen, you’ll see different channels.

Think of these like sections of the old message boards. Each one has a different topic.

Some are for general Kill Hannah discussion, while others may be dedicated to photos, live shows, memorabilia, demos and rarities, other music, random conversation, and more.

Just click or tap a channel to enter it.

You absolutely do not need to keep up with every channel.

Hang out wherever you want.

Discord conversations work a lot like group chats.

Type your message at the bottom of the channel and hit send.

You can reply directly to someone’s message, react to messages with emojis, share photos and links, and tag someone by typing @username.

You don’t need permission to jump into a conversation.

That’s what we’re here for.

If a conversation starts getting really specific, you may see people using threads.

A thread is basically a mini-conversation attached to a message so everyone can keep talking about something without taking over the entire channel.

Click or tap the thread to join in.

Discord can send a lot of notifications if you let it.

If your phone suddenly starts acting like Kill Hannah reunited without telling you, check your notification settings.

You can mute individual channels or change the server notifications so you’re only alerted when someone directly mentions you.

You will still be able to read everything whenever you open Discord.

There’s no rush to figure everything out.

Click around. Read old conversations. React to things. Post an ancient concert photo you found on a hard drive. Ask questions. Find people you haven’t talked to since 2007.

You’re not going to break anything.

A lot has changed since the old Kill Hannah internet days, and part of the reason this server exists is to give that community a place to find each other again.

This server belongs to the Kill Hannah fan community.

Whether you were there before American Jet Set, discovered them during the Atlantic years, joined the KHK later on, saw them once, saw them 50 times, or somehow just discovered them in 2026…

You belong here.

Think of this as our new Kill Hannah message board.
